I haven’t ranked my favorite plant-based restaurants of Tampa Bay in quite some time and with two new entries, it was time to pop the champagne and release this most glorious list. I am choosing strictly plant-based restaurants for these favorites…nothing foul in these kitchens.
- Golden Dinosaurs – Has been my favorite for four years running (since they opened…). Audrey and Brian Dingeman are incredible people and owners of this most fabulous establishment in Gulfport. My favorites at GD include the Cuban, Cowboy Dan, and the Waffle Fries with Nacho Cheese sauce is just absolutely ridiculous good!
- Good Intentions – Audrey and Brian team up with a few other partners including Nah Dogs Vegan Hot Dog Cart owners, Jeff and Jenny Howe, to open this fine dining restaurant in the heart of St. Petersburg in late September. Everytime I drive by it’s been packed and every friend I’ve asked about their experience has been outstanding. Tampa Bay needed a fine dining plant-based restaurant and this has filled the void!
- The Green Table – On the northern part of Pinellas County (Palm Harbor) we are covered with this tasty option. I love their Buffalo Chicken sandwich. They are famous for their version of Philly Steak and Cheeses and Gyros too.
- Cider Press Vegan Gastropub – I was disappointed when they shutdown last year to relocate to another spot in St. Petersburg but it has been worth the wait. They just reopened with menu changes. The Nacho Cheese “Chips” (fries) are fantastic and my first try with the reopen was the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which was also great.
- Florish Plant-Based Eats – On the other side of Tampa Bay on South Dale Mabry you will find another new restaurant. They specialize in plant-based pizza and bowls. I have had a couple bowls and pizzas and you can build your own or choose from created options.

Photo – Since I’m celebrating my top plant-based restaurants, I’m posting a celebrating photo from one year ago popping the champagne when Lauren and I qualified for the Boston Marathon at the Space Coast Marathon in Cocoa Beach.
